Hey everyone. Warboss Scott here.

Deep striking grotz is seriously my favorite new tactic. I find that with the new 7th edition mob rule I take less Boy Mobz and instead field a few mobz of 10 Grotz with Runtherd to fill up my troop slots. If using the new Ghazghkull Supplement you get the command benefit Tellyporta Strike. Basically, you role a D6 for each unit before deployment. On a 6+ that unit gains the deep strike special rule. However, troop choices get deep strike on a 5+ which makes it pretty likely one out of a few grot squads will get deep strike.

Usually, I use small Grot squads to hide behind cover and hold objectives. The ability to deep strike gives them some extra, and hilarious, offensive utility that your opponent probably will not see coming. Deep strike them behind enemy lines to muck things up for your opponent. Their decent BS gives them a good chance of getting a few hits on most xenos and probably a kill. Grotz are so tiny that they are unlikely to mishap. Also, if your opponent doesn't deal with them you can tie something up in an assault the next turn. I've used this tactic to take out a Master of Ordinance out of an Imperial Guard Command Squad and kill a unit of Tau Stealth Suits hiding behind cover for a 2+ cover save. I just tellyported 10 grotz in right behind them and negated their cover save. I haven't tried it yet, but I bet a mob of 30 could actually do some serious damage.

In the end, what is more hilarious than grotz dealing your opponent a an unexpected and sometimes critical blow?

Thanks for reading!
