What's up everyone, Chaplain Sam back again! Today I've got a real quick and simple how-to post for you. I built an oil refinery terrain/scenery piece to mix up the look of the games I play at home and I thought I'd share how I did it. The oil refinery is a a great LoS blocker and it's tall but doesn't have too large of a foot print. I can't remember where I got the idea for this so I can't credit the original creator, sorry! Here are the instructions:
Materials
- Super glue
- Paint
- Primer
- Cardboard
- Collection of PVC pipes that look interesting
- Misc. 40k bits (optional)
Step 1: Sand off any logos or words.
Step 2: Glue the PVC parts together.

Step 4: Add 40k bits if you want!
Step 5: Prime the terrain piece.

Built and primed! Just needs paint. |
I haven't painted mine yet because my painting queue is pretty long already. I'm trying to get more of my Nidz painted so they look better in battle reports. Anyway, I hope you found this Hobby How-to interesting. I am excited to get a game in with the oil refinery on the board. Like I said earlier, it's a great LoS blocker and it looks nice in my opinion. The whole thing only cost me about $12 (USD).
Chaplain Sam signing off!
